On October 9, the Japan-U.S. Strategic Dialogue was held, organized by the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE※) and Keizai Doyukai, funded by the United States-Japan Foundation, and supported by the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, the University of Tokyo.

Distinguished guests included former Prime Minister Fumio Kishida; Mr. Takehiko Matsuo, Vice-Minister for International Affairs at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry; Mr. Nathan A. Sales, former U.S. State Department Ambassador; and Mr. Gilman Louie, Co-founder of the U.S. Frontier Fund. In total, about 30 leaders from government, business, and academia in both Japan and the United States participated.
Under the theme "Strategic Frontiers: Geopolitical Risk and Economic Security," two sessions were held from both policy and business perspectives, generating active and thoughtful discussions.
From Keizai Doyukai, participants included Mr. Kanetsugu Mike and Mr. Junichiro Ikeda, Vice Chairs; Mr. Osamu Mogi, Chair of the Americas Committee; and Mr. Masahiko Oshima and Mr. Mitsunobu Koshiba, Co-chairs of the Committee on Geoeconomics, along with 13 other members of the Association.
The CIPE delegation included Eric Hontz, Director of the Center for Accountable Investment, and Catherine Tai, Deputy Director for the Asia and the Pacific Program, who leads CIPE's economic security work in East Asia.
This dialogue was organized with the cooperation of Mr. Daisuke Kawai, Special Advisor to the Chairman of Keizai Doyukai.
