On the Unopposed Re-election of Liberal Democratic Party President

1. We welcome the re-election of Mr. Abe as Liberal Democratic Party President.
2. Unlike short-lived Japanese administrations, governments of western countries often rule more than five years and their long-term stable administrations contribute to the domestic reforms with due responsibilities for the national politics. The U.S. President assumes a four-year term and may be re-elected for another term. We hope Prime Minister Abe’s long-term Cabinet will certainly achieve Japan’s major transformations.
3. To build a sustainable society, Japan must prepare for major social transformations by 2020. We expect Abe Cabinet to tackle important issues such as the fiscal consolidation for a primary surplus, the labor legislation to vitalize economy and society, and an early agreement in the TPP pact negotiation in line with Japan’s national interests. The solutions to these issues will be possible only with a long-term administration.
4. Finally, along with Abenomics showing its steady progress, we, corporate executives, are committed to pursue reforms, dismantling bedrock rooted in our hearts.
