on Outcome of Liberal Democratic Party Presidential Election

1. Prime Minister Abe has been reelected today as president of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party. We deem it a result of the voters' preference for continuation of the current regime.
2. We regret that the two candidates, Mr. Abe and LDP veteran lawmaker, Mr. Ishiba, were not very clear during the campaign period about the country's sustainable blueprint and concrete measures to realize it. For creating a new Japan to pass on to future generations, we request the government to focus on the issues covered up to the election and to have discussions on measures to be implemented with a broad vision. We believe this will lead to the recovery of public trust in politics.
3. A long-term stable government is a comparative advantage in the current world environment. We hope Japan's presence will be enhanced through the government's demonstration of the leadership in solving global challenges.
