On the restart of Ohi Nuclear Power Plant

I appreciate that the government finally reached a decision to restart Ohi-3 and Ohi-4, reactors at Ohi nuclear power plant in Fukui, by gaining understanding and acceptance from the surrounding municipalities. The stable supply of electricity and containing escalating electricity costs are indispensible to secure people’s living standards and promote business activities.

Additionally, I hope the government establishes a new administrative system for nuclear safety by launching the Nuclear Regulatory Committee, as well as paving the way to resume operations at other nuclear power plants.
