Statement by Yasuchika Hasegawa, Chairman of Keizai Doyukai
“On the Inauguration of the New Noda Cabinet”

September 2, 2011

Yasuchika Hasegawa
Chairman, Keizai Doyukai

  1. Prime Minister Noda finished forming his cabinet today. While they have a myriad of challenges before them-such as realizing economic growth, the recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake, handling the ongoing nuclear incident and restoring fiscal soundness-led by Prime Minister Noda, I have high expectations of the new cabinet to achieve swift and concrete action to deal with these issues.
  2. In anticipation of his initial policy speech at the extraordinary Diet session, I would like to urge Prime Minister Noda to clearly express the policy issues he is going to address during his term and how he will prioritize among these. Furthermore, to gain support to implement these policies, I would like him to clearly explain his policies in easy-to-understand terms to the public and to establish a collaborative framework with opposition parties.
